New U.S. EPA lead standard

U.S. EPA tightens Ambient Air Quality Standards for lead (Pb)

In October 2008, the U.S. EPA tightened its National Ambient Air Quality Standards for lead (Pb) 1.5 μg/m3 to 0.15 μg/m3, measured as total suspended particulates (TSP). This change has meant a 10 fold decrease in acceptable lead levels and thus, the accuracy of monitoring equipment is even more important.

Ecotech Pty Ltd meets this stringent new monitoring requirement with their U.S. EPA approved HiVol 3000 (RFPS-0706-162) and also with their latest product, the MegaVol 3000.

In order to accurately monitor these new low levels of lead, the HiVol 3000 air sampler is fitted with accurate volumetric flow control including inputs from local conditions, i.e. local air temperature & pressure. The exhaust from the HiVol 3000 is also directed away from the sampling point by at least 4m to ensure no recirculation of sample air.

The MegaVol 3000 sampler, designed for the European air monitoring community, uses a flow rate of 150 m3/hr and has been designed to obtain low concentration (trace) detection limits for a number of target compounds and elements including:
