Ecotech celebrates 35th anniversary

On Saturday 3rd December Ecotech celebrated its 35th anniversary of business with a combined staff Christmas party at Rochford winery in Victoria’s Yarra Valley. An honour board recognising the longevity of staff, many who have been working for the company for over 10 years, was also unveiled.

From a small workshop in the garage of the Dal Sasso residence in the early seventies where Robert Dal Sasso repaired air quality analysers, Ecotech is now one of the world’s leading suppliers of environmental monitoring solutions.  As a global manufacturer with thousands of instruments, the company supplies products to more than 70 countries around the world.

“We are extremely proud that we have played an integral part in the continuous improvement of air quality in Australia and offshore,” said Robert Dal Sasso, Ecotech Director.

The company has grown from a staff of two people in the seventies to a staff of over 100 and now includes sons Nicholas Dal Sasso, General Manager and Paul Dal Sasso, Service Manager.

“Because we operate independently with our own research and development department we are able to keep up with the latest and most innovative technology,” said Nicholas Dal Sasso, General Manager.

Strategic partnerships including a recent project with the University of Wollongong to commercialise a comprehensive greenhouse analyser, ensure company products continue to gain world-wide acceptance and market share.

This year Ecotech won the Governor of Victoria’s Export award for innovation excellence, which recognised quality of service, product innovation and highly skilled staff.

“We have continually reinvented ourselves to adapt to the changing needs of our customers.  In the last few years our customers have outsourced many of their monitoring requirements so we’ve developed data collection and reporting services.  We are also developing a range of wind energy services including an in-house wind tunnel for anemometer calibrations,” said Nicholas Dal Sasso, General Manager.

Now, thirty five years on, Ecotech continues to grow and diversify both in the domestic and international market.
